On Wednesday, August 6, Rocky Neck Artist in Residency, Mark Lavatelli will show work he has completed during his residency at a Gallery talk at 7 pm in the Avery Mann Gallery, 77 Rocky Neck Ave. The public is invited to attend.

Thursday, August 6: Nights on the Neck

Leslie Bartlett will present A Stonecutter's Tale, a live shadow puppet play about the history of quarrying on Cape Ann.
Sarah Dunlap and Stephanie Buck will read from their book, Fitz Henry Lane: Family and Friends, which reveals newly discovered information about the 19th-century painter.
Kathleen Mari performs belly dance as a ritual dance of transformation, weaving elements of tribal fusion, yoga, and Eastern Mysticism into a dance-tapestry.
Rick Drost sings timeless romantic ballads and country with a twist, at Imagine.
Three Sheets to the Wind, local musicians and Schooner Adventure crew members, will sing maritime work songs.

The next monthly meeting of the Rocky Neck Art Colony will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 6:30pm in the Bryan Gallery. Nominations for open positions on the Executive Committee will be made at the meeting, including President, Treasurer, Secretary, Artistic Director and Marketing Director. Jeff Weaver will offer an oil painting demonstration at North Shore Arts Association on Sunday, July 27th at 3:00pm. This event is free and open to the public. Primarily a plein air painter, Weaver has won numerous awards for his work. The North Shore Arts Association is located at 11 Pirates Lane in Gloucester and is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm and Sundays from Noon-5:00pm. Tickets are on sale now for North Shore Arts Association’s Art Auction & Gala on Saturday, August 16th! A preview party catered by Duckworth's will be held from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and will include an open wine bar and live music by What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?

The live auction will begin at 7:00pm, is open to the public and promises to be an extremely fun and lively event! The evening will be hosted by well known Auctioneer, Frank Kaminski of Kaminksi Auctions in Beverly, MA. The auction will include paintings from North Shore Arts Association’s most accomplished artists. Seating is limited.

Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased at NSAA located at 11 Pirates Lane in Gloucester or over the phone with a credit card by calling 978-283-1857. More information can be found at www.nsarts.org.

Susie Field and Pia Nadal open Annisquam Gallery

Pia Nadal and Susie Field announce that they will share the Cove Gallery at 21 Walnut Street in Annisquam for the months of July, August and September. The gallery is open on Friday through Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00. For more information, call 281 3026.
